Note: forecasts are generally for smaller tributaries. If a forecast is at a confluence, the mainstem temperature likely differs. Note also that these forecasts are from a generic, national model. It is typically effective everywhere (e.g., mountains, deserts, forests, cities), with typical errors around 2-3 C (4-5 F), but any given site may have large errors. Forecasts just downstream of a reservoir, hot spring, or wastewater discharge may be particularly unreliable.
